Leveraging our expertise in cellular metabolism, Agios’s mission is to bring novel treatment options to patients with rare diseases with an initial focus on hemolytic anemias and additional interest in inborn errors of metabolism, lysosomal storage diseases and amino acid disorders. Our goal is to maximize the impact of our science for patients by internally advancing programs that are aligned with our core therapeutic focus areas and that can leverage our highly integrated research and early development infrastructure, our expertise in driving innovative targets for rare diseases and our commercial infrastructure and abilities. We pursue out-licensing for programs that have significant potential for patient impact yet are outside our current focus areas. In addition, we consider in-licensing promising programs that are aligned with our strategy, capabilities and focus. We also consider non-asset deals that can enhance our ability to get products to patients more quickly and effectively.

Research Partnerships
As a nimble, science-driven organization, Agios collaborates with researchers, scientists, academics and tech transfer offices. We also consider partnerships with institutions that have technology that may enhance our drug development and delivery approaches.
Investigator-Sponsored Trials
Agios supports Investigator Sponsored Trials (ISTs), which are independent, investigator-initiated research designed to advance scientific knowledge of disease states, patient populations and medical treatment in alignment with our clinical and nonclinical areas of interest.
Independent Medical Education Grants
Agios supports grants for independent medical education to advance knowledge in medicine and healthcare by improving awareness and understanding in the medical community. We will consider grant requests focused on our therapeutic areas of interest.
Clinical Data Sharing
Agios is committed to sharing clinical trial data with scientific researchers in the interest of advancing public health. Agios will consider external requests from qualified researchers for data derived from completed Agios-sponsored interventional clinical trials
Advocacy Sponsorships and Donations
Agios is dedicated to partnering with patient communities to achieve our shared goals and to provide support beyond medical innovations. Through charitable donations to healthcare-related non-profit organizations, we support disease awareness and education, patient and family support services and community-building programs. We also consider sponsorship requests, which are opportunities for an advocacy group to receive funding or in-kind support in return for a tangible benefit to Agios such as the opportunity to make a presentation or distribute materials.
