Valuing differences

At Agios, our approach to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) is guided by our Valuing Differences framework. This framework helps drive our culture and innovative spirit. It acknowledges the types of differences that exist among people, and it provides Agios with a guide for ensuring that these differences are reflected, embraced and honored in the people we hire and work we do.

  • New hire onboarding program that provides common ground for members of our team with a diverse set of experience
  • Social and cultural events that introduce full Agios team to backgrounds and interests of other team members

Cognitive Differences

  • Insights Discovery training to help team members understand themselves and their colleagues
  • Psychological safety training to create a safe environment for all of our people to speak up


  • Representing and reflecting the different voices in the Agios community
  • Furthering the work of diversity, equity and inclusion at Agios and in our communities
  • Working in partnership with Agios leadership, Human Resources and Employee Resource Groups to shape, drive and lead the actions that will help Agios achieve our DE&I goals

Employee resource

Our ERGs are employee-led and provide a platform to hold Agios leadership accountable to the DE&I values we espouse. We encourage our people to join, suggest, and/or create any ERG.

Agios Association of Black Professionals (AAOBP)

The AAOBP is dedicated to articulating, supporting and advancing the needs and goals of Agios Black professionals through the following:

  • Enhancing civic engagement and strengthening
  • Agios’ image in the community
  • Raising Agios’ cultural awareness

Agios Pride ERG

The Agios Pride ERG seeks to create a supportive and affirming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and asexual (LGBTQIA) members of our team and allies through the following:

  • Working with Human Resources and Agios leadership to develop policies and practices that positively impact
  • LGBTQIA people on our team
