Brian Goff is Chief Executive Officer of Agios Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he is advancing the company’s vision to redefine the future of rare disease treatment.

With over 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including the past decade in global rare disease leadership, Mr. Goff has dedicated his career to advancing transformative medicines for patients facing severe, life-threatening conditions. He believes that meaningful innovation begins with understanding the patient experience and has built strong partnerships with patient communities, bringing organizations together around a shared commitment to identifying and helping address barriers to care. Guided by these insights, Mr. Goff has led the successful development and commercialization of multiple breakthrough therapies while building and scaling global franchises, expanding treatment possibilities for populations that have historically had limited or no therapeutic options.

Prior to joining Agios in 2022, Mr. Goff served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial and Global Operations Officer at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, where he oversaw global commercial operations, manufacturing, and product supply through a period of significant growth, culminating in the company’s acquisition by AstraZeneca. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Neurovance, Baxalta, Baxter Healthcare, Novartis, and Johnson & Johnson, successfully building global franchises across hematology, neuroscience, and rare diseases.

A passionate, people-first leader, Mr. Goff is known for cultivating inclusive, high-performing cultures rooted in trust, collaboration, and purpose. In recognition of his commitment to diversity and empowering the next generation of industry leaders, he was named “Mentor of the Year” by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association in 2014.

Mr. Goff currently serves on the Board of Directors of Intellia Therapeutics and has advised organizations including Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, and Life Science Cares. He received a Bachelor of Arts, Phi Beta Kappa, from Skidmore College and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
